The American Legion Oratorical Contest
Morris Frock received no applications for competition this year and subsequently will not hold a Post level Contest in January 2025 for this years contest
The American Legion’s Oratorical contest is open to high school students and consists of an 8 to 10 minute prepared speech and a 3 to 5 minute speech on one of four assigned topics.
Contestants prepared speech must be performed from memory and must be on some aspect of the Constitution of the United States which gives emphasis to the duties and obligations of citizens to our government.
Morris Frock Post 42 will hold its Post level contest in January 2025. Students interested in participating should notify the Post of their intent to compete by December 1, 2024. Students can notify the Post by filing out the form below.
The contestant who places first in our Post competition will move on to compete in the District Competition which will be held in February 2025. The winner of the District competition will compete in the State competition which will be held at Towson Post 22 on March 23, 2025. The winner of the State Competition will move on to the National Competition held at Hillsdale College in Michigan May 16-18 2025.
